Mridula Baljekar
Biography
Mridula Baljekar’s passion for cooking was born when, at the age of five, she was allowed into her grandmother’s kitchen. After studying at university in Assam she moved to England with her Goan husband. Here she began teaching Indian cookery at the Tante Marie School of Cookery and in the local community. She was a founder member of the team that created Indian Oriental Food & Drink magazine and is now its cookery editor. Mridula Baljekar is a successful Indian cookery writer and is the author of Mridula Baljekar’s Real Balti Cookbook, Vegetarian Balti Cooking, A Taste of Goa and Complete Indian Cookbook. The latter has sold over 250,000 copies worldwide. She also has her own successful television show that can be seen on Carlton Food Network.
