Carol Meldrum

Biography

Carol Meldrums picked up the pins at a young age, taught by her Grandma & Mother she progressed quickly & her imagination was sparked. She attended Duncan of Jordanstone college of Art originally to do Fine art, but soon realized Constructed Textiles was for her, she gained an Batchelor of Design Honours Degree specializing in hand & machine knitted textiles. After leaving College gained a graduate placement with a Scottish Knitwear manufacturer, designing & producing High Street fashion knitwear, where she worked for 4yrs. 

For the past 8 years Carol has been working for Rowan & Jaeger hand knits as a Design Consultant & has worked for Rowan as a freelance designer for the past 7 yrs where many of her designs can be seen. Carol also has a very busy calendar of knitting & crochet workshops throughout the UK. Carol can also be found in HK handknit a fantastic independent knitting shop dedicated to the craft of knitting in Edinburgh, Scotand. She also produces & sells her own exclusive knitted accessories through independent retailers in Scotland & through her website www.beatknit.co.uk. Carol has had three books published 'Easy Crochet Accessories', 'Funky Knits & Easy Beaded Crochet Accessories'.
